i LOVE the beatles

the weight loss challange ended today. i lost nothing (and gained nothing - which i guess is good in a way). the girl who won lost 4 pounds. 4 pounds! it's kinda sad that we had this challange going from september until now and the most any of us lost was 4 pounds - and she was already skinny to begin with! ah well. i've lost some inches and still have hope. i want to lose the weight by june. i want to enjoy my summer - perhaps even wear a swimsuit...in public (and not just in fron the mirror and getting depressed...)

on a brighter note - a coworker of mine got back from his two week long vacation to vegas. when he told me he was going i told him that he had to see LOVE for me. he didn't go to the show but he did bring my back this awesome t-shirt! he also said i didn't owe him a thing (since i made him a hat for nothing awhile back - my first hat ever). so that was incredibly cool and it brightened my day a ton :)

and other than that - it was a monday. chris and i are about to go watch the second half of the first LOTR movies. i remember not wanting to see the first one - i hated (or thought i did) anything having to do with sci-fi/fantasy. i ended up loving them though. :)

Happiness is a....

SILENT SPACE! (bang bang shoot shoot)

(sorry - the song is just stuck in my head - as if you couldn't tell)

so a man just came and fixed the 'beep beep fucking beep' and i couldn't be happier. he also gave me his direct line for the next time it happens :) yay!

seriously...my ears feel soooooooooo good right now :)

1 hour and 45 minutes to go....

Mother Superior jumped the gun...

it's so quite at work on friday afternoons.....

it wouldn't be so bad except that a computer in the equipment room around the corner has something wrong with it and keeps beeping.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

beep.

it's like chinese water torture after awhile. not to mention that it's beeping on my left side - the side that i have that damned ear disease on - which just happens to be acting up at the moment. ARRRRRGGGGGHHH!

i've made numerous calls to try and get someone over here to fix it but to no avail. i hate being a pest about it but it's driving me insane.......

anywho....

hopefully i can survive the next 2.5 hours! then i'm heading straight up to duluth. hopefully i'll make it in time to have some dinner before my mom and i (and hopefully carrie and sarah) go to see 'Across the Universe'! i'm so excited to take her to this as we are both huge Beatles nerds!

hmph - the word 'hopefully' appears three times right under one another (or at least it does in this draft)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND CHRIST AND MOTHER MARY MAKE THAT BEEPING STOP!!!!!

i'm going to make yet another call and attempt to read.

my ears are going to start bleeding soon....

You Say It's Your Birthday?

well...

It's MY Birthday too - Yeah!

and I'm gonna have a good time!

On the agenda:

Lunch with Chris - he's bringing it into work :) (what a sweetheart!) Along with the 2 trays of Rice Krispie treats he made last night (one regular and one peanut butter with chocolate on top!)

Dinner with Chris and some friends at the wonderful Tum Rup Thai followed by a few drinks at Figlio's :)

Movie Shoot! Chris and I are going to be extra's in my friend Carrie's film 'White Man's World' this evening!

I love birthdays! You'd think I'd be better at remembering them because of that but for some reason I'm not - need to work on that! Chris and I felt like asses yesterday after realizing that we had called his dad on Saturday and mentioned that my birthday was coming up only to realize last night that we completely forgot his birthday on the 10th! Oops!

It was a great weekend! Friday night myself and 3 friends headed over to Minneapolis to be extra's on the 'White Man's World' shoot. Carrie gave me an early birthday gift - some beautiful yarn that I cannot wait to use, some note cards (I need to start writing more letters) and yummy chocolate :) Then 3 of us headed out for drinks and some good girl chat time :) Saturday Chris and I headed out (along with Nattie whome we had for the weekend) to Willmar to see his family :) It was a gorgeous day and we went out on the lake for a boat ride :) Yesterday his mom gave me a cake (Carter - his nephew - was super cute and kept sticking his fingers into the icing!) and an awesome birthday gift - knitting needles, 3 skiens of yarn, and a fabulous felting project book! (I've never done it before but am really excited to give it a go). We also got to see his sister Megan's new apartment - very nice! So yeah - it was a great weekend!

Alright - back to "work" :) I'll post some pictures of the night's festivities tomorrow :)

And as of yet - 12:11pm I'm still 26 :) Got a few hours left at least :)

across the universe

words are flowing out like
endless rain into a paper cup
they slither while they pass
they slip away across the universe
pools of sorrow, waves of joy
are drifting through my open mind
possessing and caressing me
images of broken light which
dance before me like a million eyes
that call me on and on across the universe
thoughts meander like a
restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as
they make their way across the universe
sounds of laughter shades of life
are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
limitless undying love which
shines around me like a
million suns
it calls me on and on across the universe

(see this movie! and also get the soundtrack! completely and utterly fantastically awesome! i'm completely in love with it)

mushaboom

mushaboom by feist
(my favorite new song)

Helping the kids out of their coats
Oh wait the babies haven't been born oh
Unpacking the bags and setting up
And planting lilacs and buttercups oh

But in the meantime we've got it hard
Second floor living without a yard
It may be years until the day
My dreams will match up with my pay

Old dirt road,
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old

I got a man to stick it out
And make a home from a rented house oh
And we'll collect the moments one by one
I guess that's how the future's done oh

How many acres, how much light
Tucked in the woods and out of sight
Talk to the neighbours and tip my cap
On a little road barely on the map

Old dirt road,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
knee deep snow
mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow,
mushaboom, mushaboom)
o-o-o-o-old
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Old dirt road rambling rose
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Watching the fire as we grow
(mushaboom, mushaboom)
Well I'm Sold...

i added their song to my profile - check it out. i was just driving home and heard 'sealion' by them on the radio and liked it. so i walked in and checked out their myspace page but they didn't have that song. so i found this one. enjoy.

what else?

have you ever wondered what the transcripts from your thoughts would look like. this is just one of the many random thoughts i've had throughout the day. this one came to me while driving home. think about it next time your driving. all the things you think about in your head - how much you think about. i guess i didn't have to say think about in your head. rather obvious. unless you think in your foot - which is weird. although some people think in the ass - well...not in..you get the point.

see - completely random! what is up with me today?

i feel good. it feels good to get up and go to work each day. my job doesn't involve teaching the children or savings lives - but it suits me just fine for right now. i feel good. i just said that.....

what else?

oh! 'it was 40 years ago today - sgt. pepper told the band to play' that's right - june 1st 1967 saw the release of sgt. pepper!

i had some really good chocolate cake today. must get the recipe for that.

hmmm...i think that's all i got for the moment. chris an i are nattie sitting this weekend so i went over to let her out and while there i borrowed the two seasons of 'boston legal' that they had. love that show! so i'm going to go watch that and eat some dinner.

and i swear i wasn't drunk while writing this entry. just random.
