just in cases......

chris i should be in duluth as i type this. but....we are the king and queen of late starts. well...i suppose if left to his own devices chris would always be on time. me on the other hand? i'm hard to get up in the mornings.....


anyhow. as i write this we still have yet to shower, wrap, pack, and get out the door. perhaps i should be working on one of those instead of blog blog blogging (as chris calls anything i do on the computer).

okay...you get the point :)

no big reason. i just feel good. one reason is the exercising. i'm sticking to it this time. there is absolutely no excuse for me to sit on my ass and not do it. i got up this morning and exercised. that's something i've been thinking about doing and come morning it's just so darn hard to get up. but i will now. i know how good it feels to get on that treadmill - blast some good music and get pumped. afterwards i'm really awake. the shower feels better. i feel better. it's a good. i love it.

also - i have more energy throughout the day. even if i'm bored - my mood stays good.

so yeah - i feel good. and i thought i'd just share that with y'all since i might be too busy to blog tonight. after work i'm meeting my dad for dinner. he's down here on business which is great becuase i left my winter coat in Duluth over Christmas and he's bringing that down. he's also bringing the very large bottle of Bailey's that my brother got us :) in return i'll give him the scarf (that i finally finished!!) that i knitted him for Christmas. then it's home to exercise. maybe some crocheting afterwards.

TREES:



we have decorated the tree. aunt fran was kind enough to give it to us and i love it :) it just gives the room a special warm glow. i just absolutely love christmas! there are no presents underneath it yet as i'm afraid the cats will tear the paper to bits. so far they've behaved themselves in regards to the tree - i think this is due in part to the fact that chris litterally shook the tree and made it growl (pre-ornaments of course) whenever they came near it :) it was funny.

in other christmas news - everyone's presents are going to be late. i work christmas eve and chris works christmas day so we're spending the holiday here. i haven't had time to finish all the crocheting and such either. ah well. i'm not going to stress.

CATS:

the cats have gotten used to their new home. i have more pictures to post but thought these were cute. minvera is a t.v. kinda gal. i have a feeling is she were a human she'd be a bonbon eating girl who watched her 'stories.' in this particular picture she is watching 'Survivor Man' - she jumped off the couch to go sit right in front of the tele. it appears that survivorman is watching her as well :)

both cats love sinks. and showers. they won't sit in a cat bed but they love the sink. go figure.

BABIES:

Congrats to Carrie and Steve on their baby girl - Dahlia Marie :)

as soon as I heard those words 'It's a Girl' i called chris and told him we were going to duluth! she is absolutely adorable! just look at the above picture - she looks like a doll! (ignore the fact that my lips look purple....)

seeing her made me want one SO much! i cannot imagine what an incredible experience it must be to go through all that and then hold them in your hands. WOW. chris is handling all of my baby babble very well though - thanks hun :) (doesn't he look cute with the wee one :))

LIGHTS:

there is a house in duluth that every year puts on free light show. i've never been until now - it was really cool! tons of beautiful lights. a fire pit to roast marshmellows. mistletoe. hot cider and cookies. and pictures with santa! of course we had to get one :) although santa called me a 'cake eater' - wtf? :) (cake eater - for you non-duluthians - is a term given to those of us who went to school on the east side of town. the schools surrounded my mansionis - although i never knew anyone who lived in them...)

SNOW:

before heading out of town we stopped down by the lake front. it was cold (if you couldn't tell...). we ended up having a snowball fight. chris turned his head right when i threw mine - it got wedged inbetween his face and his sunglasses. oops! it must have been a sight seeing me try and run and not fall with him chasing after me....

we though the below picture was amusing. camo doesn't work so hot in the snow fella's....

and that was our weekend. i should go. almost time for bed and chris wants to play cribbage :)

***ack! look at the font! every time i freaking press enter it changes on its own accord. it also has to put everything in italics. it is driving me batty. does anyone else having this problem. every single time i blog. enter - change font. it takes me about five times to get to the one i want. for istance - right now it says i'm typing in non--italics arial. bull. arrrggghhh.....

Making a List...

i've been rather absent from the blogging world it seems.....

we've been getting situated in the new place and getting ready for Christmas. i have a ton of pictures to post but haven't gotten around to uploading them yet. who knows when it will happen...

i've already determined that gifts (at least some of them) are going to be late. i had high hopes of crocheting/knitting something for everyone but that quickly fell apart. i had counted on all that free time at work and then BAM - they gave me stuff to do! who knew?! then the moving took away more than a week of my cozy nights sitting on working so.....yeah.... but i'm not getting stressed. this is my absolute favorite time of the year and if they gifts are late - they're late. if people get mad

(which i'm sure they won't) then that's too bad.

i also need to make time for baking - i LOVE to bake this time of year :) i already have a list a mile long of all the ingredients i'll need :)

tonight chris and i went shopping. we finally sat down this past weekend and made a list of everyone we're buying for and what we're buying them. and for the most part we got it all done which makes me happy. that and going out and buying buying buying always makes me happy - which isn't great i guess - but oh well :) we found some really cute stuff so i'm excited :)

and now that it's almost bedtime i'm off to have some dinner :)

oh - christmas cards will be going out soon! if you think i don't have your address (and just to be safe - assume i don't) e-mail it to me! and if you want to send me one (:)) e-mail me as well :)

Teddy Bear: Part 3

meet carter's bear :)

that's right - i finished him!! i must say i'm pretty pleased - although next time i'll sew the arms on a bit higher as his next looks very long. ah well. he's cute, right?

i knitted a scarf to go along with him :)

and now i'm really going to get back to the laundry/crocheting. although bed sounds so much better! i think i'm coming down with the flu or something. my whole body is aching and i'm sore. my stomach feels icky. my throat is sore. my head aches. blech. :( i just took some meds and am going to town on the throat lozenges so hopefully they'll all kick in soon....

Teddy Bear: Part 2

slowly but surely i'm making some progress....

tomorrow comes the body and hopefully some arms and legs. then i still have 2 more to make! yikes! i best get a move on, eh?

other than crocheting crocheting crocheting i spent the day having lunch with Chris, his brother Nathan, his wife Mandy and Aunt Fran - it was good. I had some awesome cinnamon raisin pancakes. then we stopped into to see Mandy at work - she works here. i started buying these zipper pulls (i'm not sure how many zipper pulls one needs but i have plenty) - they are super cute. i got one awhile ago - one of the rare ones (you don't know what one you're going to get when you buy it. it's a suprise which is partially why they are so addictive). so today i bought another and gave it to chris - low and behold it was the exact same rare one as me! so now we have matching pulls - as you can imagine he was thrilled :)

alright - chris is harrassing me to get off the computer ('stop blog blog blogging' as he calls it) so he can finish up some work.

Teddy Bear: Part 1

i think i mentioned that i'm trying to work on some teddy bears for some little ones in my family? no? well i am : ) and this is how far i've gotten.....

Basket Case...

oops - i meant basket WEAVE! (but when it comes to all this yarn and crocheting/knitting i think i am becoming a baseket case...sigh...)

i decided to knit - and learned some new pattern stitches. the basket weave (shown above and below - it will eventually turn into a scarf for my dad). the sugar cube. the mesh. and the seed.

it's fun until you drop some stitches but i'm learning how to fix those so all is going well so far :)

oh - and i converted two "non-bloggers" into bloggers today :) so - welcome Vija and Mia - you're gonna love it!

Poke 'Em Out!

seriously.

my eyeballs are driving me insane! i woke up this morning to find them almost swollen shut and pink and watering and burning and just - well - gross. tonight after taking much allerguy medication they are no better. the swelling has gone down but they are watering and burning like a bitch :(

i'm not looking forward to waking up tomorrow for work and looking like this. argh.

on a better note i've started some new crocheting projects and hopefully they'll turn out :) i have a huge desire to make more baby things but have to concentrate on Christmas gifts right now - and perhaps using up some of my mass collection of yarn before buying more :)

and now - time for another dose of meds, my cooling eye mask and some sleep!
