KELLY'S BABY

BOY!!!

that's right ladies and gents - It's a Boy! :)

To Kelly:

seeing these pictures is just unreal to me. I know it should make it more real but...kelly - you are growing another human being inside of you! i just - wow. that is the most astounding and amazing process to me!
i know that you are going to be an absolutely fantastic mother! that little boy is going to have more scrapbooks dedicated to him than anyone i know! and i know you were kinda hoping for a girl (i think all woman kinda do) a boy is going to be fantastic - like molly said - they are extremely devoted to their mama's (and younger siblings - not that your thinking about more at this point in time :))
i'm really just so excited and happy and thrilled for you! always know that you have a strong circle of friends and family that are going to support you no matter what! Good times and stressful times - we'll be there for you! Need a nap? Pickles and Ice-Cream? Call me and I'll come over :)

I love ya with all my heart! :)

Le Sigh.....

today is one of those days....

one of those days where you feel sick but not sick enough to call in. one of those days where the thought of dealing with people ((cough::morons::cough)) seems painful.

one of those days where the e-mails i recieved with the below quotes made me chuckle :)

(e-mail from Kelly)
"Handle every stressful situation like a dog. If you can't eat it or hump it...piss on it and walk away"

(e-mail from Vija)
"I don't mind coming to work, but this eight hours of waiting to go home is just bullshit"

i should get back to work. i actually have a lot of stuff to keep me occupied. mainly becuase i have someone coming to sit with me this afternoon. i mentioned in the 'loose lips' blog that i was given a list of phone numbers to hand out to people coming in with various work related questions. the guy who gave me that list is coming in to sit with me for about 2.5 hours today to 'make sure it's going smoothly.' ugh. this man has the personality of used car lot salesman. cheesy. one of those guys. i'd really rather not have him sit in the chair behind me like a lurk while i do busy work. i hope to god he doesn't try to make idle chit-chat. and let's mention the fact that the amount of people coming in (to whom i'll hand out those phone numbers) varies from day to day. one day i could have 30 people come in. the next day 2. today it'll probably be 0. he'll go report to his boss that 'everything is just fine' when it's not. argh.
stupid corporate america hoo-ha. ugh.

Book Club

today was my first ever book club! and while we didn't spend much time discussing the the actual book (the year of yes by maria dahvana headley - a book i still have to actually finish) it was still a great time :)

i miss having that 'girl time.' just sitting around and chatting about anything and everything. nibbling on snacks. having a drink. it's very relaxing and in my opinion needs to happen more often! (stop by any time ladies - especially you Chris - we live close together :)) i got to see kelly who i have not seen since my birthday (the day she found out she was pregnant!)! it was a little depressing to see that her pregnant belly is still smaller than my non-pregnant belly....but i'm working on it. i'm so excited for her though - and can't wait to make a ton of fun baby related things :) speaking of - molly brought along two books full of great knitted toys. hopefully one day i'll be able to make them. right now i'm trying to attempt the knitting with 4 needles thing and it's seems entirely too complicated..but i know i can master it.

alright. that is all. i am currently suffering from severe stomach cramps. yes - i know you were all dying to know that :) i had cramps in my dreams last night. kind of the like when you have to pee in your sleep and you keep dreaming that you have to pee but can't? anyone? (maybe that's just me). so i woke up and took 2 midol (which had never worked for me before so i took advil then a friend gave me a midol and it worked like a miracle so i started taking it. now it sucks again). nothing. i took another. nothing. but for some reason i woke up an hour later feeling really sick - like i'd over medicated. 6 hours later i took another. still notta. well - the cramps are better but i just feel plain sick. bleck.
so yeah - i'm gonna go lay down........

2007 - The Year I.....

...fell in love. truely. i feel like i've known him my entire life. i cannot imagine that life without him. i wish everyone the chance to experience this kind of love....

...realized i was growing up. it sounds to odd to say that when you're 27 - but it's true. i can't put my finger on it but the feeling is there.

...learned how to cope with my depression. well...i guess i've always been able to cope or else i wouldn't be here - but with each bout of it i feel like i gain a deeper understanding of myself. this understanding may not be apparent to those having to deal with the crying and the mood swings - but it's there.

...met some wonderful new friends and became closer existing ones. i've had two jobs this year and at both have met some incredible people at both. i've reconnected with friends that i've known for a long time but feel much closer to now.

...learned how to knit and crochet. i've become slightly obsessed with both. my life is filled with yarn and gagets to work that yarn that i never knew existed. i love it. i feel like i'm good at something for the first time in a long time. and while making a hat may not solve world hunger - i feel good when i see something that i've created with my own to hands. something that can be put to use.

...lost weight and gained it back. today i exercised and plan to do it everday. i want to become addicted to it. not only will i lose that weight again but it'll help with the depression.

...moved into a home. well - not a house - an apartment - but a place that feels like home. chris and i share this place. we'll share it for a few years more to come.

...heard my biological clock begin to tick. it's been there all along i guess but this year it made itself known - big time! my friend carrie found out she was pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful little girl. seeing her change and seeing her with the baby have been an incredible experience - one that i want to experience one day. this year will bring more of that as my friend kelly found out that she is pregnant. i cannot wait to see all of her changes and meet her little one. both woman are/are going to be just fantastic mothers.

...realized how hungry i was. sorry - not part of the actual post but i just realized i haven't had my dinner yet and should probably do that. don't worry though - i'll be posting more soon. i've been absent as of late but i joined the blog 365 (because i might be on crack...).....

so...i'll leave you with this wish......

I hope you have a FANTASTIC new year!

Potter Party Pictures!

Kell Bell and I

I wanted this shirt!
(the front said 'Weasley is our King!)

Costume Contest
These were the winners.

Love the View!
This woman decided to stand herself right in front of me so I could have a nice view of her ass. How kind!

Blow Fishes!
After wondering around for a long time we decided to plunk ourselves down. This was rather dull so we entertained ourselves :)

What?

Ummm...
We are both supposed to be cross-eyed but Kelly goofed. As a result I look deranged and she looks high.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!
that's all I got

"Performance"
These girls decided to show everyone a skit they created. It was...uh...well...interesting. sort of. i guess. but not really.

The Reaction
This is how Kell Bell and I felt about the "performance"

I Believe...
Although I'm only on Chapter 9! I may be proven wrong. I hope not though. I love Alan Rickman! I can't believe I'm only on Chapter 9! I was sick yesterday though which took away valuable reading time. sniff.

Back Support
Kelly and I just happened to plunk ourselves down in front of The Sex Bible. She had a silver wrist band which allowed her to get her copy first - I took this picture to keep her company in line..and to entertain myself. While I was waiting for her to return a group of girls (dressed as Death Eaters - but somehow I don't remember Death Eaters wearing ripped up garbage bags...) clamoured around me and started to giggle over the book shown above. One of many comments I heard..."Ewww! I would never do that! Would you??" they also picked up some copies but no one could be dared into actually opening it. I found it all hysterical myself :))

Oh the Excitement!
Kelly - as I mentioned - was the first to receive her copy and free poster. I was jealous.

Waiting...and Wating...
When will they call the PURPLE wristbands!?

The Line
finally at around 12:40 a.m. or so they called for the Purple's :)

At Last!
Oh the Excitement!

Ready to head home!
We were up WAY past our bedtimes :)

A fun time was had by all :)
Thanks for going with me Kelly!

And with that I leave you with one of the more memorable quotes heard during the night (by a girl returning to her group of friends after she struck-out in the Harry Potter Spelling Bee)

"YOUR MOM EATS SHOES!"

Potter Party!

HARRY POTTER PARTY!

that's right - i'm going one step further in my Potter Nerdiness - i'm attending the Harry Potter Party at Borders (or Barnes and Nobles - whichever is best)!

i hadn't planned on going. my mom mentioned that she was thinking about going - alone :) . then mia mentioned that she was going. then i got the urge to go. granted i already ordered my book and it's scheduled to arrive in the mail tomorrow - but when i get an urge i want it fulfilled NOW. i didn't have anyone to go with though - that is until Kelly said she would :)

so in about an hour or thereabouts i'm off to the Potter Party with KellBell :) It should be a nerdy night and i'm very much looking forward to it. i'm also looking forward to a completely uninterrupted day of reading tomorrow!

as for the book i ordered - i'll just return it :) that is if i can even get a book tonight...guess i'll have to see :)

tata!

Acceptance

i have depression.

i hate saying that. it makes me feel ill. like i have a big lump of ickiness in my stomach and a lump in my throat. it makes me want to cry. it makes me want to sleep.

last year at the this time i was going through a rather difficult spell. in order to distract myself i started working out. a lot. i discovered that not only did i look better but I felt incredible! i thought i had finally kicked my depression out for good! i should have known better.

depression is a disease that cannot be cured. all the women in my family have suffered from it.

lately i've been feeling strange (see 'elevate' blog). i should have recognized the symptoms. kelly recognized them but even after she pointed it out i still didn't want to accept it.

i've been mad at the dumbest things lately. and not just mad - borderline tantrum throwing things (not anything hard or break-able...just clothes) mad. the kind of mad where you get so boiled up and frustrated that you fall to the floor in a crying heap.

for instance - this past saturday i wanted to get my eyebrows waxed. i hadn't done it since i moved and they looked awful. i felt ugly. so i took the coupon that had arrived in the mail and looked up the location of the Fantastic Sams. i drove out there - no Fantastic Sams. nowhere. i start to get pissed. i drive around some more. i get more pissed. i start to get mad at idiotic drivers in their minivans. i start to get pissed at the massive sprawl of townhomes and condos that seem to cover every square inch of woodbury. i get home and call fanstastic sams only to find that the number has been disconnected - it no longer exists! everything falls apart. i start crying. the apartments a mess - i want to clean it but i'm crying and pissed and there's not enough room to even put things away. i throw some clothes across the room. i'm still crying and pissed that there is not outlet for my frustration so i slam a few cupboard doors for sound effect. i realize that this whole situation is completely absurd but that doesn't seem to help at all. so i cry some more.

chris comes home to find me like this. this is the last thing that i want. i hate to have him see me when i get like this. i know how stressful and hard it is to deal with me when i'm like this. i've seen how it pushes people away. i try to explain to him that i'm sorry but i just end up crying more. it's not him. it's me. i don't know why i'm like this. he just looks at me and i feel so helpless. i want to explain to him that i'm happier than i've ever been in my life. i love him more than anything. i desperately want him to understand this but it's hard to explain to someone how happy you are when you're crying. eventually though i realized that this was my depression showing it's ugly head again. i hated to admit it but i did. we talked and sorted through it. he made me laugh. i felt better.

i accept that i have this disease. but i refuse to let it dominate my life. i've been down that road. it's awful. i know what i have to do to fix it but it's hard. exercise helps but depression zaps you of your energy. i find myself wanting to sleep all the time. i will manage though. i refuse - absolutely refuse to let this take me down.

i'm happy. i have the most incredible boyfriend and best friend i could have ever dreamed of. i have wonderful friends. i have a great family.

it's sort of strange to be blogging about this. it's all very personnal. people could be reading this that i do not know. people i'll never meet. but for some reason it helps to get it out. i've tried writing in a journal but i get frustrated. (typing is much faster). it also helps (i think) to read about other people's problems. maybe then you'll feel better about your own. or you'll realize that your not the only one who has crying fits and throws clothes. who knows. technology is a strange thing.

chris's mom asked about getting the link to my blog again this weekend. i guess i'm nervous that she'll think i'm a nutcase for posting these things. but she is pretty cool so maybe she wouldn't. i don't know. i still haven't decided if i'm a nutcase :)

i do feel better now than when i started. i was pretty cranky this morning - at stupid things (like slow computers and a pudgy stomach).

back to work.....

Here Comes the Sun!

It's been awhile - but the sun finally decided to return. Well, it might have returned yesterday but I was too busy being lazy inside to really notice.....

I did, however, make it out today and it was gorgeous! Chris and I took Nattie for a walk. Nattie belongs to Anne but her and her family are out of town this week and so Chris is watching her. She is adorable and so well behaved - she makes this cat lover want to get a puppy!

nattie

chris and nattie

nattie sniffing out her territory

sun shining through the pines

chris and nattie

holding hands - had to include one cheesy picture (sorry chris!)

and once again...chris and nattie

So there is my day thus far. I'm looking forward to taking more walks with her! Much easier to handle than Moose - we tried to take the both of them for a walk yesterday but Moose just went ape over seeing Nattie! He was way to hard to control so we had to nix it! Hopefully Moose and Kelly's puppy Logger (yes - it's a weird name) will get along better as I hope to take care of him the week that Kelly and Richard are on their honeymoon. We'll see.....

For now I'm off to enjoy my egg salad and do some more job hunting - wish me luck!

Pretty in Pink

kelly's gift. the gift registry had been emptied and so I went on a pink spree

since i have not blogged in awhile and have received complaints from my (two) readers (hi Carrie and Kari!) i thought i would post my third blog for the evening . here are some pictures from the past two weeks activites - aside from the last picture they all revolve around my dear friend Kelly and her bridal shower and bachelorette party :) (hi Kelly and Molly!)

----the story of the missing hair dryer----

once upon a time kelly's best friend molly came to visit. she left her hair dryer there. kelly never bothered to tell molly this. molly searched and searched for the hair dryer. bridal shower day comes. kelly opens AWESOME red hair dryer (if you're reading this and want to buy me something - i want this). kelly is very thankful saying that the one she has reaks of burnt hair. kelly thinks for a moment and realizes that this stinky dryer belongs to molly and tells her. molly is stunned that kelly has had her dryer for years. kelly returns hair dryer to molly - who doesn't really want it anymore. it was funny in person at least :)
